Historical Sketch

The Twentieth Century Medical Club of Boston, Mass. was a women's medical society founded in 1897. Female doctors served as officers, and the organization hosted talks and discussions on medical subjects. Originally called the Nineteenth Century Medical Club, it was renamed in 1900.

This collection consists of 1 volume and 1 folder of records of the Twentieth Century Medical Club of Boston, Mass., including secretaries' minutes of meetings, 1897-1911. The collection contains discussions of the election of officers; papers presented on medical topics such as the use of opium and therapeutic value of light rays; and lists of Boston-area women doctors such as Drs. Caroline Hastings, Martha E. Mann, and Mary L. Swain.
