This collection consists of one narrow box of materials relating to the Charlestown Overseers of the Poor, Boston Mass.

Collection Description

This collection consists one narrow box of records of the Charlestown (Boston, Mass.) Overseers of the Poor, 1847-1873. The volume includes meeting minutes, a contemporary copy of by-laws, lists of members, financial accounts, records of aid recipients and applications to the almshouse. Also included is a volume containing narrative histories of aid recipients, 1864-1866, including widows, orphans, and Civil War veterans.
